PUBLIC NOTICE
Subject: Directive to Jungle Energy Power (JEP) on the Cessation of Legacy Debt Collection Activities
Monrovia, Liberia – August 2, 2025
The Liberia Electricity Corporation (LEC), in accordance with a directive from the Board of Commissioners of the Liberia Electricity Regulatory Commission (LERC), hereby informs the public and Jungle Energy Power (JEP) that, effective immediately, JEP is to cease all collection activities related to legacy debts owed by customers/consumers within the JEP Nimba Distribution Area. This notice serves as a follow-up to a formal communication issued on July 28, 2025, which directed JEP to discontinue the collection of legacy debts on behalf of the Corporation.
LEC reiterates and reaffirms its position on this matter and emphasizes that no individual, entity, or agent is authorized to collect such debts within the aforementioned area. LEC remains committed to ensuring transparency, fairness, and regulatory compliance in all its operations and appreciates the continued cooperation of JEP and all stakeholders.
