Work on the World Bank funded Caldwell electrification project has resumed. The issuance of the Environmental Social Impact Assessment permit by the EPA paved the way for the project to again get underway.
It can be recalled that the project was suspended last year after the donor requested the conduct of the ESIA survey. The World Bank funded Monrovia- Bomi Corridor LACEEP-AF project is expected to connect additional 33,000 customers to the National Electricity grid.
Communities to benefit from this project include: Caldwell, Dixville, Kebbah, Communities around Barnesville Estate, Barnesville Bend and Stop, 1603, Dry Rice Market, Maryland Center, Patient@planning shop, Day Break Mouth Open, Chicken Soup factory, Shoe factory, JJY Community, Iron factory, Topoe Village, Battery Factory, Freeport community, Virginia, Brewerville and up to Bomi and Grand Cape Mount counties.
